I’m Heather Rains, a certified RYT 200 Hatha Yoga teacher with a specialized credential in Restorative Yoga. I originally stepped onto the mat years ago as a way to navigate life’s natural ups and downs, and I quickly discovered that the effects of a dedicated sadhana—a disciplined practice—are truly life-changing.
There are a thousand reasons to start yoga; whatever yours is, I’m happy we’ve found our way here together. I believe the yoga mat is the wildest ride of a lifetime, and I can’t wait to share that practice with you. We are all teachers to one another, and I look forward to practicing alongside you soon.

Because life is full and ever-changing, my offerings are spontaneous and community-focused. I’ll be hosting "Pop-Up" sessions—both under the trees in Balboa Park and virtually from my home to yours.
There is no fixed schedule yet; instead, I’ll announce sessions as they flow into my calendar.

The best way to catch a pop-up class is to sign up for my email list. I’ll send out a note a few days before I head to the park or hop on Zoom.
I believe in the power of slowing down to truly inhabit the body. Our practice is an invitation to move with awareness and find ease in the present moment. We explore the balance of Sthira and Sukham—finding that sweet spot between steadiness and ease, effort and surrender.
In these sessions, we focus on:
Mindful Movement: Moving with intention rather than momentum.
Integration: Taking the time to feel the effects of each pose.
Presence: Using the breath as an anchor to stay in the "here and now."
Meditation: Creating space for quiet stillness to calm the nervous system and settle the mind.
Whether we are in the park or online, the goal is to create a sanctuary where you can settle into yourself and leave feeling more grounded.
For Park Sessions: Please bring your own yoga mat, a water bottle, and a towel (useful to place under your mat if the grass is damp).
For Virtual Sessions: Find a quiet space where you can move and breathe freely.
All Sessions: Wear comfortable clothing that allows you to settle into your body with ease.
